Care Commission inspections:

REGISTRATION AND INSPECTION OF FOSTERING AND ADOPTION SERVICES

In 2005 West Lothian Council was one of five agencies in Scotland which volunteered to become part of the pilot of the Registration and Inspection programme being conducted by the Care Commission. National care standards for adoption agencies and foster care and family placement services have been developed, to ensure that services are of a high quality, and agencies must comply with these care standards.

From 2006 the Care Commission will inspect all Adoption and Fostering agencies annually in relation to the standards, and they are outlined in detail in

  • National Care Standards - Adoption Agencies

  • National Care Standards - Foster Care and Family Placement Services
